Someone Started A Trash Can Cleaning Service In My Town!

This past week I discovered that some industrious person in my community has started a trash can cleaning service. I first noticed something was a little different when I arrived home from work and saw a flyer in my door. The flyer introduced the name of the company and the rates for cleaning out my poly cart trash can. They had a one time price and then a better deal if you want to have your can cleaned on a regular basis. They just had a phone number to call and no website.
The reason I bring up this story is because I think this is a brilliant idea. First, the Housing Association where I live forbids you from keeping your trash cart outside, it has to be in your garage! I know, it's insane but that is a whole story in itself. Needless to say, the extreme summer heat causes the bacteria to grow in the cart and the odors become significant. The slime that builds up in the bottom of that plastic beast are almost alive! My town is full of these Housing Associations and many of them have this stupid rule. There are a lot of prospective customers in the area! Second, The start up costs for this kind of service would be extremely low. You could buy a large high capacity sprayer and some detergent and disinfectant and maybe a long handled brush. You would probably want to invest in some rubber gloves and some protective eye wear. I would guess that you could get this business rolling for under $50.00. Third, while this new company had no website you could use a free blogger blog and a $10.00 domain and get a simple one page site up to cover the details of your business. The domain name could be included in the flyer and I think it would really help sales. I also think that free sites like Craigslist and Backpage could be a real good advertising platform.
You would need to see what your city ordinances mean for any regulations that pertain to trash cart cleaning too.  At the end of the day this business is just the kind of venture I like to focus on here at this site. I would love to know what you think of this idea and encourage you to leave a comment.

How To Start A Niche Catering Business From Home

My goal here at Simple Second Income Ideas is to provide you with as many ideas as possible for making extra income so that you might find an idea and run with it all the way to the bank. I think you are going to like this story today.
Hadi Irvani was a young college grad who came up with a great twist on an old idea. Hadi has basically demonstated how to start a niche catering business from home.
Here is a little bit of his story. Hadi believed and continues to believe that one of the things lacking from American social life is the "dinner party". It is his belief that one of the great relationship builders in life is a shared simple meal. I think he is right. The problem is that Americans don't cook much and all indications are that this trend will continue. So Hadi recognized this "problem" and provided a solution that has turned out to be a wonderful career.
Hadi decided to send out delicious meal ingredients plus instructions on how to prepare these ingredients. He includes all of these items in one box. Talk about a fabulous niche category for the catering business this is it...dinner party in a box.
This business can be examined more closely at Hadi's website www.peachdish.com. Hadi's business has grown . He now employs chefs and pr specialists and my hat is off to this young entrepreneur.
His story got me thinking about my readers and how they could take the concept and put their own twist on the idea. Why not start a small business out of your home where you ship out great gourmet desserts in a box. You could develop or borrow great recipes and ship the ingredients and the instructions in a box and you could start small from your home. I think the same idea could work for other specialties like hors d'Oeuvres, salads, beverages or specific menu categories like seafood or barbeque. The possibilities are really endless Hadi Irvani has really provided an inspiring idea and story for all entrepreneurs on the value of taking basic ideas and mixing them with massive action.
If you find Hadi's ideal appealing but you have no idea how to start a catering business from your own home then I highly recommend a fabulous resource on the basics of the catering industry. This material covers every area of the catering business as well as the financial issues too. You can read more on the link below. Until the next second income idea "good luck"!

Ryan Wallace Created A Better iphone Buy Back Business

Ryan Wallace is the creator of iphoneantidote.com. He started the company because he believed there were too many online companies that would rip off people who were looking to trade in their used or broken iphones. Ryan had a particularly bad experience himself when he sent his broken iphone into a buy back company and they sent him a check for a measly 45 bucks. This experience so incensed Ryan that he formed his own company.
Ryan learned some simple skills concerning iphone repair and built a simple 4 or 5 page website and the rest is history.
The business is based on a 3 step process. First, iphoneantidote.com sends you a prepaid box to ship your phone. Second, you ship your phone. Third, you get paid for your phone. Needless to say, Ryan is a success because he found a gap between $45.00 and a respectable number which is much higher but still leaves a healthy profit margin for Ryan.

There are some simple concepts we can learn from Ryan's success. First, you don't have to dream up a new product or service. Ryan just took an existing service idea and improved upon it greatly. Second, you don't have to have a brick and mortar facility to start a second income source. Ryan's website is simple and the concept is equally simple.
I hope Ryan's story inspires you to pursue your ideas for extra income.

2014 List Of Companies Offering Remote Work From Home

One of the goals that I have for this site is to offer as many ideas for making additional income as I can. My hope is that I can help more and more people find something that interests them and that they feel they can actually do.
I have written other articles about virtual work but I just ran across an excellent article that contained a great list of 100 companies that are going to be employing people at home. If you are interested in looking at that list just click on the link below.

I thnk that often times people are wary of taking a leap of faith and starting their own venture but are more comfortable working for an established company. I don't fault that attitude and that is why I include articles like this one.
There will be more and more of these opportunities because it is really advantageous for companies to offer these opportunities. Here is a snippet from an article on the Huffington Post concerning this very issue.
Everyone can benefit from telecommuting jobs. Studies from Stanford University and the University of Minnesota, have shown that telecommuters are 13 percent more productive than office-bound workers. And companies who actively hire engage and retain remote workers have lower operating costs, increased productivity, and better employee retention. In the Stanford study, the company that implemented telecommuting saved $1,900 per telecommuting employee, and reduced their turnover by a full 50 percent.
Let me know if this article was a help to you!

Make Money Making And Shipping Diaper Cakes?

I am constantly on the look out for unique second income ideas and I just found one that I didn't even know existed! There is apparently a national craze with "diaper cakes" which are a popular item at baby showers (makes sense).
Don't get confused about what this actually is, it isn't an edible cake. It's a cake facsimile that is actually made out of disposable diapers. Here is a video with over a million views that helps explain the concept.

I got to thinking that some other baby shower items could be used to make similar items. You could use your imagination to come up with other unusual ideas. Watch some more videos and learn how to do this and set up your own free Blogger blog and use some great keywords and you could market your "cakes" all over the world for that matter. It may take some research on how to make and ship these little babys but the profit potential is definitely there if you have the mind to work.
Thanks for checking out my site.
